Professional ECS certification for low voltage cable jointing specialists in the UK
Official LV Jointer ECS Card - Professional Low Voltage Certification
The LV (Low Voltage) Jointer ECS Card is issued to experienced electricians and jointers who carry out LV jointing and termination work on cables in the UK. This certification confirms competency in low voltage systems and demonstrates adherence to current UK health & safety regulations on construction and industrial sites.
This ECS card validates competence in a range of low voltage cable jointing and termination tasks.
Professional termination of LV cables at boards, panels and distribution equipment.
Joining and splicing of low voltage power cables to manufacturer and DNO standards.
Working to LV electrical safety rules, isolation, earthing and permit-to-work systems.
Testing, inspection and verification of LV jointing and termination work.
Recognised across UK construction and industrial LV environments.
Clear evidence of your competency in LV cable jointing and terminations.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of safe LV electrical working practices.
Supports progression into senior LV roles and related electrical positions.
The LV Jointer ECS Card costs £79. This fee covers the application processing and card issuance. Any ECS Health, Safety & Environmental test fees are separate and payable to the test provider.
The LV Jointer ECS Card is valid for 3 years. After this period, you will need to renew the card, ensuring your ECS HS&E Assessment is still valid and your details are up to date.
You should hold relevant NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent LV electrical qualifications, have a current ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment pass, and be able to show practical LV jointing and termination experience in the field.
The LV Jointer ECS Card covers low voltage systems up to 1000V AC or 1500V DC, typically found in commercial, industrial and construction environments throughout the UK.
The card recognises competency in low voltage jointing, including power, control and similar LV cables. You must still follow your employer’s authorisation rules, network operator standards and site-specific safety procedures for the particular cable systems and networks you are working on.
