This mandatory assessment checks your understanding of health, safety and environmental responsibilities on UK construction sites. It must usually be passed before a new or renewed Gold Card can be issued, unless you hold an accepted exemption.
The Installation Electrician Gold Card is normally valid for three years. You should apply to renew it before the expiry date to maintain continuous access to UK sites.
You will normally need an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification recognised by the JIB, along with suitable on-site experience and a valid ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment result.
