Accepted across UK telecom, data centre and construction sites where ECS cards are requested.
Shows your specialist skills in cellular infrastructure, small cells, DAS and macro sites.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
Supports progression into senior field engineer, survey or commissioning roles in telecoms.
Once we receive your completed application and all required documents, it typically takes 15–20 working days to process and dispatch your ECS Cellular Network Field Engineer Card. Missing or unclear information may delay this timescale.
This assessment checks your understanding of key health, safety and environmental requirements on UK telecom and construction sites. It can be taken at approved test centres nationwide and, in most cases, must be passed before your ECS card can be issued.
The card supports work with a wide range of technologies including 4G, 5G, LTE, small cell installations, macro cell sites, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other RF and cellular infrastructure used across the UK network.
You can usually renew your ECS Cellular Network Field Engineer Card up to six months before its expiry date. The renewal process is similar to a new application and may require up-to-date evidence of experience and a current ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment, depending on the rules at the time.
