Before you book your CITB test

This form is for applicants who need a CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test as part of an ECS card application, renewal or upgrade.

Across the UK there are 50+ official CITB HS&E test centre areas where you can sit a test that is accepted for ECS card routes.

Check which ECS card and level you are working towards.
Make sure you know which CITB HS&E test is required.
Have your National Insurance number and ID details ready.
Choose a UK test centre that is easy for you to reach.

On the day of your test

CITB HS&E tests follow strict rules so that your result can be accepted for ECS card applications.

Bring valid, original photo ID (for example a passport or UK driving licence).
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Electronic devices must be switched off and stored as instructed.
Follow the instructions given by test centre staff at all times.
